Choices Pregnancy Services Include:

Pregnancy Testing

The first step in knowing if you are pregnant.  If you’ve been sexually active and missed your period, you should take a pregnancy test.  Pregnancy tests check your urine (pee) for a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). Your body only makes this hormone if you’re pregnant.   Most tests are very reliable but only a doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional can confirm that you are pregnant.  At Choices, we use laboratory quality pregnancy tests that are more sensitive than most of the pregnancy tests found in the store meaning that it can detect HCG at lower levels than store tests.  Keep in mind that It is best to wait 4 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) to take a test.

Pregnancy Confirmation by Ultrasound

If your pregnancy test is positive our nurse will determine if you are eligible to have an ultrasound exam to verify and gain more information about your pregnancy. Ultrasounds use sound waves to see inside the body.  Ultrasounds at Choices are performed by registered ultrasound technicians and all scans are reviewed by medical doctors.

Ultrasound can determine how far along you are in your pregnancy, whether the pregnancy is located inside or outside of the uterus, and whether the pregnancy is viable or likely to continue.  One out of four, or at least 20% of known pregnancies naturally end in miscarriage.  This information is important and is helpful for whatever choice you are considering:  Continuing with your pregnancy or abortion

Pregnancy Options

After you’ve confirmed your pregnancy, you might be feeling excited, scared or even confused.  These are all normal feelings.  You basically have three options:  Raising your baby, abortion or adoption.  You may have a choice in mind or you might not be sure and that is OK. Your choice matters and our staff will give you accurate and honest information as you consider your options.  You can ask as many questions as you’d like during your appointment.  You can trust us.  We care about you and treat all of our clients with care and respect and without pressure or judgement.
